About Us

Samuel Robison,
MA, LPC-S

Samuel’s specialties include crisis counseling, risk assessment and in-home and office-based family and couples therapy. Sam has over 18 years of professional experience in multiple treatment settings including residential, community and outpatient counseling. Sam has expertise in working with other systems of community care to integrate wholistic treatment.

Approach To Therapy

Sam utilizes an eclectic, collaborative and individualized approach to treatment drawing from Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Illness Management Recovery (IMR), Family Systems Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Satir methods. Sam’s focal point of treatment with children, adults, and families is effective communication and exploration of systems level dynamics. Sam helps clients understand that interpersonal communication and internal communication shape our perceptions and contribute to the formation of schemas, or mental maps, of the world around us. Analyzing and improving semantics and metacommunication help create better understanding for family or couple dynamics and create awareness of maladaptive, destructive self-talk.
